Abstract
305,784. Davies, H. Jan. 6, 1928. Driving-gear for portable endless-belt elevators; feeding-devices.-For loading sugar-beet or other materials into a motor vehicle A, an elevator R normally carried on brackets at the side or end of the vehicle is placed in operative position at the side of the vehicle and driven by chain-andsprocket gearing from a longitudinal shaft H geared to the transmission shaft C. The driving sprocket M is movable along the shaft H to suit the position of the elevator, the shaft being fitted with a long driving feather. The shaft H is driven by chain-and-sprocket gearing K, D and the sprocket D may be driven from the shaft C through a clutch. The elevator is fitted with a detachable feed hopper c. The chain b is detachable and is tensioned by moving the foot of the elevator.
