Abstract

828,538. Chain conveyers. CHAINVEYOR CORPORATION. July 30, 1956, No. 23429/56. Class 78 (1). A chain conveyer (Figs. 2, 3) carries articles along tube T hooked on to straps 50, the straps travelling along a slot formed in the tube and the links of the chain being universally pivoted at 39 and being guided inside the tube by rollers 35. The slot may be offset from the vertical. Alternatively the articles may be hooked over tube T and be pushed therealong, by projections on the chain conveyer. The drive (Fig. 4).-Conveyer-driving sprocket 22 is driven from pivoted motor 56 through belt 58 and gearing 57 and in turn drives the conveyer chain by engaging shoulders 44 of the chain by blocks secured to the periphery of the sprocket 22. Take-up curve 25 (Fig. 1).-To allow for expansion of the tube T due to temperature variation the take-up curve 25 is floated on springs 30.
