Abstract

771,579. Endless-chain conveyers. AUMUNDFORDERBAU-GES. March 21, 1955 [April 1, 1954], No. 8176/55. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer for use in mining operations of the kind consisting of a series of steel troughs 2 attached to oval link chains 1 and provided with rollers 15 for running on guide rails, the chains 1 and each pair of adjacent troughs 2 are pivotable about common swivel joints 3. A bearing 4, in which a pin 7 is mounted, is fixed at one end of a trough and a strap-like projection formed with an oblique slot 5 is secured at the other end. The pin 7 at the end of the adjacent trough is passed through the slot 5. A member 6 turns on each pin 7 and has a link of the chain secured to it by a pin 8 or a screw. Any section of troughing may be divided along its middle plane 18, Fig. 4, into halves which overlap at 19. The parts can turn about a vertical pivot 17. Downward sagging of the conveyer is prevented by providing some troughs with stops.
