Abstract

863,993. Endless chain conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Feb. 3, 1959 [Feb. 20, 1958 No. 5503/58. Class 78 (1). A curved guide track, for an endless conveyer chain of the kind comprising alternate pairs of horizontally spaced and vertically spaced links connected pivotally together by connecting members each including a pair of pivot pins for pivotal connection to the respective pairs of links, which pins are arranged at right angles to one another and to the longitudinal direction of the chain and are provided respectively with guide rollers 15 and supporting rollers 16, comprises a pair of plates 17 which are spaced apart a distance greater than the diameter of the guide rollers 15 to allow for the alternate movement to one side and the other of the guide rollers 15 on the inside of the curve. Each plate 17 has a groove 20 to receive the supporting rollers 16 and, inserted in a recess in this groove, a guide strip 21 for engagement with the supporting rollers 16 at a position on the inside of the curve with respect to the axes of the rollers 16, so as to maintain the guiding of the chain in the curve. The plates 17 are secured in spaced relation by bolts 18 and spacers 19. Specifications 639,244 and 665,885 are referred to.
