Abstract

729,614. Endless-scraper conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA, and DOMMANN, G. April 2, 1953, No. 9259/53. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer comprising conveying members 17 mounted between a pair of endless chains 16 which are driven along a conveying channel and which carry guide elements 20 engaging guide surfaces 15 formed on the side walls of the channel, the surfaces 15 and the surfaces of the guide elements 20 are of arcuate cross-section and of equal radius. As shown, side members 10 and a partition member 11 form the conveying channel and a return run. The guide surfaces 15 are provided for guiding the elements 20, which are cylindrical in form, on both runs. The elements 20 are carried on the ends of coupling members 18 of the chains, which are connected to the conveying members 17 by horizontal pivots 19 for limited pivotal movement so that the conveying members can ride over obstructions.
