Abstract

942,301. Endless conveyers. WRIGHT HARGREAVES ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. March 25, 1960 [Jan. 17, 1959], No. 1808/59. Heading B8A. A pair of endless chains 10, comprising links connected together by ball-and-socket connections 12 and adapted to support articles such as crates 11, are guided round a horizontal curve by fixed L-section guides 15, 16 and by rollers 18 which are mounted on fixed pivots 19 and which project through openings in the guide walls 15<SP>1</SP>, 16<SP>1</SP>. Flanges on the rollers 18 overlie steps 21 on the chain links. Curved guides 22 may be provided to prevent articles from sliding laterally off the chains. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the rollers 18 are replaced by endless roller chains interposed between the chains 10 and the guide walls 15<SP>1</SP>, 16<SP>1</SP>.
