Abstract

762,175. Chains. FISK, G. L. March 17, 1953, No. 7307/53. Class 24. [Also in Groups XXII and XXX] In traction means (see Group XXX), for advancing elongated articles consisting of a pair of endless belts between opposed reaches of which the articles are gripped, and in which the belts are backed by driving chains; each chain consists of outer links 96, Fig. 9, and inner links 97 spaced by rollers 102 on spindles 100 interconnecting the links. The links 97 are in turn spaced apart by blocks 98 forming a continuous flat surface for the corresponding belt, the outer pairs of links 97 having flanges 99 for preventing lateral movement of the belt. In straight line movement, small gaps are left between adjacent blocks 98 to allow for kinking. Specification 731,991, [Group XXII], is referred to.
