762,037. Endless-chain conveyers; roller conveyers. DAWSON BROS., Ltd. June 27, 1953 [June 30, 1954], No. 19183/54. Class 78(1). Parallelepipedal articles, e.g. metal cases 16, Fig. 3, for containing beer bottles, carried by a conveyer are turned through 90 degrees on to their sides about an axis parallel to the direction of travel by ramps 18, 19, 20 prior to entering a treatment chamber. The articles rest on parallel rails 10, 11 and are engaged frictionally by the links of the driving chains 12, 13. In a modification the articles are pushed by hand-over-idler rollers.
