Abstract

572,604. Driving-chains. WARE, H. M. July 17, 1944, No. 10278. [Class 24] [Also in Group XXX] In a universally movable chain conveyer the links are formed as supports for carriers for the goods to be transported and each link comprises a pair of separate U-shaped elements c, d each having a roller g journalled therein and joined together by a swivel pin x entering in the direction of the length of the conveyer. The links are pivoted together by pins f forming journals for the rollers g each at right angles to its neighbour. The rollers run in a channel guide h and the vertically disposed pins carry transverse bars m supporting carriers p, e.g., for milk bottles, bent at q to pass beneath the channel h and carrying rollers bearing upon the underside of the channel. Alternatively the carriers may be supported above the conveyer. The conveyer may be driven by extensions of the forks engaging toothed wheels or rollers.
