Abstract

1351818 Endless conveyers W KAMMANN- [trading as WERNER KAMMANN] 27 May 1971 [19 June 1970] 17675/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division B6] A device for transporting articles through a screen printing machine comprises a pair of parallel endless conveying chains 10 and 11, each provided with lugs 17 and 18 respectively, the chains being longitudinally adjustable relative to one another such that adjacent lugs (one on each chain) form receptacles 14 of variable size for supporting the ends of the articles. A further pair of chains 12 and 13 is provided for supporting the other ends of the articles in a similar manner. The lugs may be provided with both vertical and inclined surfaces to enable receptacles of varying shapes to be formed. The printed articles are removed from the receptacles by gripping opposite ends between axially movable gripping members 36 which, after gripping an article transport it around the chain wheels 24 to a depositing station below the chains. Axial movement of members 36 is derived from independently driven face cams 39.
