Abstract

1368085 Roller conveyers DEXION-COMINO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 14 June 1972 [17 June 1971] 28517/71 Heading B8A An accumulation roller conveyer has a plurality of sections each consisting of pairs of links 8 provided with vertical slots 7 for locating the trunnions 4 of a group of conveying rollers 2. The trunnions are also received in slots 5 formed in side frame members 6, the slots being wider than the slots 7 and having inclined bottoms. The links 8 are movable longitudinally by a pneumatic cylinder 9 controlled by a tripoperated valve 11 and an endless drive belt 1 is engageable with the rollers 2. An article engaging the valve 11 causes the adjacent upstream pair of links 8 to be moved such that the rollers 2 of the associated section are raised due to the action of the inclined bottoms of the slots 5 and drives to these rollers is disengaged. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3, a belt 22 engages articles directly and sections 20 of rollers 21 are vertically movable by a device 27 which acts on a hinge point 26 between side members 25 of adjacent sections. Each device 27 is controlled by a detector 28 to cause the rollers 21 to be raised and lift an article clear of the belt 22. Belt-pressure wheels 23 and articlesupport rollers 24 are mounted on common shafts. In a still further embodiment, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), sections of conveying rollers (31) are raised clear of a belt (32) by pairs of cams 35 engageable with parallel lift members (33).
