1386209 Tansferring between conveyers M CAVANNA 10 Sept 1973 [14 Sept 1972] 42372/73 Heading B8A Apparatus for transferring articles 5 conveyed in transverse rows of a first conveyer 1 to a conveyer 2 on which the articles are conveyed in single file comprises a composite conveyer 3 receiving the articles from the first conveyer 1 and comprising a number of parallel belts 6 each of which receives the article of a respective row, the speeds of the belts being different so that the articles form an oblique row, an intermediate conveyer 7 receiving the articles from the composite conveyer 3, and an oblique deflector 8 guiding the articles one at a time to the second conveyer 2. A driving roller 9 for the belts 6 has sections of different diameters to provide the differing speeds of the belts.
