Abstract

1466965 Conveying hops AGROSTROJ PROSTEJOV NARODNI PODNIK 26 Sept 1974 [11 Oct 1973] 41950/74 Heading B8A An endless conveyer system suitable for conveying material, e.g. hops 10, through a processing machine 2 includes a section 15 where gripping members 9 on a chain 4 are more closely spaced than in the main upstream portion of the system. After the spacing has been increased the members 9 are again closely spaced through a section 15<SP>1</SP> before the spacing is increased as the members convey the material 10 through the machine 2. The system facilitates the loading of the members 9 with material from trailers 17. The members 9 have rollers 11 (not shown) which, when the chain 4 is fully extended are guided on a track 1 which also support roller or slide units 3 of the chain. The sections 15, 151 each include brake units 20, 21, 20<SP>1</SP>, 21<SP>1</SP> which in combination with feeding or driving conveyers 18, 18<SP>1</SP> cause the decrease in spacing of the gripping members 9 in the sections 15, 15<SP>1</SP>. Drive for the conveyers 18, 18<SP>1</SP> and for the chain 4 is from units 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, e.g. electric motors. Material which has been processed is removed from the gripping members 9 by a loosener 23. The speed of the drive units 12, 12<SP>1</SP> may be varied. There may be two endless systems which share a single processing machine 2 (Fig. 6, not shown). Other configurations of systems are illustrated.
