Abstract
1460296 Roller conveyers LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 3 May 1974 [30 June 1973] 31308/73 Heading B8A Component-carrying platens (22) (Fig. 3, not shown) are transferred on a pair of bearing tracks 15, 16 from an extension 12 to an extension 13, the platens having guide rollers 23 which pass between walls 19, 21 of a channel 14, 14a. Each track 15, 16 consists of a series of steel ball assemblies 17, 18 secured to a baseplate 11. Platens are fed along extension 12 by a twin belt conveyer, by the platens pushing each other, while supported on the tracks 15, 16. When they successively reach the extension 13, a second twin belt conveyer picks up the platens. In a modification, the platens may be dispensed with if the components are of sufficient width and have guiding projections. The inner guide wall 19 may not be necessary and the balls 17 may be replaced by rollers. In place of the discharge conveyer a storage hopper may be used.
