Abstract

834,002. Endless band conveyers. VICARS Ltd., T. & T. May 10, 1956 [Sept. 26, 1955; Jan. 3, 1966], No. 14520/56. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXV] An endless conveyer band consists of a pair of chains 10 each of which is composed of detachable links formed from pressings, each link having inner and outer side members 11, 12, a bearing member 16 at one end and a cooperating pintle member 18 at the other whereby adjacent links may be interlocked by relative pivotal movement, and a plurality of transverse rods 20 welded between opposed inner members 12 of the chain links. Two rods 20 are provided for each opposed pair of links, the top surfaces of the rods being preferably on a level with or above the top surfaces of the bearing members. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the tops of the rods 20a are below the tops of the bearing members 16a which have a chamfered portion 16b to allow articles to slide transversely from the band.
