Abstract
730,822. Conveyer chains. NEW CONVEYOR CO., Ltd. March 5, 1954 [March 7, 1953], No. 6382/53. Class 24. A conveyer chain link comprises four similar metal strips a, Fig. 1, each having a series of tenons b and notches c formed along its longitudinal edges and a hole d for the reception of a pivot pin. The four strips are assembled as shown in Fig. 3 with the tenons and notches interengaging to form a hollow link of square section which can receive a pivot pin e at both ends. The length of the link depends upon which tenons and notches are selected for engagement. The strips are held together by a pair of metal clamps f or alternatively by a single clamp applied near the centre of the link. The clamp or clamps may also serve for the attachment of goods carriers to the chain.
