1,165,867. Endless passenger conveyers. ORENSTEIN-KOPPEL UND LUBECKER MASCHINENBAU A.G. 3 Sept., 1968 [14 Sept., 1967], No. 41855/68. Heading B8A. In a passenger conveyer comprising a plurality of platforms 1 constituting a passenger conveying surface and arranged to be driven around a closed path by a pair of laterally disposed endless chains 4, 4, each platform 1 is secured at one end to the mid-point 6 of a corresponding transverse shaft 5 linking the two chains 4, 4, by a connection permitting correct alignment of the platforms parallel to the length of the conveyer by means of relative pivotal movement between the platform 1 and the shaft 5 about an axis perpendicular to the latter. The connection at 6 may comprise hemispherical contoured plates depending from the platform 1 (Fig. 2, not shown), or a depending rod (Fig. 2a, not shown). At its other end, each platform 1 carries respective rollers 9 on each side, which engage abutments 10 (Fig. 4) carried by the chains 4, 4. Each chain is guided by a member 8.
