Abstract

759,371. Endless conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd. July 28, 1954 [Aug. 1, 1953], No. 21382/53. Class 78 (1). A trolley for carrying a suspension rod comprises two longitudinally spaced sets of track rollers 15, 16 joined by a connecting member 10 with each set of rollers comprising at least two rollers such as two rollers 15, 16 only or a single roller 16 and a pair of rollers 15 which two rollers or the single roller and the pair of rollers are mounted on a connecting body 13 so as to rotate about mutually transverse axes and engage guide portions of the track and the arrangement is such that the connecting bodies 13 are mounted for pivotal movement in relation to the connecting member 10 about an axis aligned with or parallel to the axis of rotation of one of the rollers 16 on the connecting body 10, which axis is also transverse to the plane of curvature of the track, and each connecting body 13 is provided with an additional castor roller 26 rotatably mounted about an axis parallel to and spaced rearwardly of the pivotal point of the connecting body 13 having regard to the direction of travel and each castor roller engages a guide portion of the track to maintain the other roller or rollers 15 in a position in which it or they is or are aligned with the track despite its curvature. A rearwardly extending lug 24 of the body 13 carries a castor-wheel 26 rotatably mounted on a pin 25 and running between the vertical guide walls 27. The connecting member 10 is formed by two parallel plates 21 rigidly connected to sleeves 20 in which the pins 17 for the pivotal mounting of the connecting bodies 13 are held by underneath nuts and upper circlips 19. Specification 665,883, [Group XXV], is referred to.
