Abstract

917,597. Conveyer systems; endless conveyers. BAGSHAWE & CO. Ltd. July 7, 1961 [July 20, 1960], No. 25271/60. Classes 78 (1) and 104 (2). [Also in Group XXXII] A chain conveyer load carrier or a driving member comprises a pair of carriages 12, 13, running on a track 11, connected to and spaced along a chain provided with suspension members 22, 36 depending therefrom and which support a rigid link 28 in such a manner that the link can pivot about the vertical axis of the member 22 at one end and at the other end is connected at 33 to the suspension member 36 which allows the link 28 to pivot about vertical and horizontal axes. A load may be suspended from a hole 44 in the link 28 or alternatively driving members may be provided on the link 28 to move load-carrying trolleys along a separate track. The suspension members 22, 36 may be supported from axles 15 of the carriage wheels 41, 42 or alternatively, Fig. 3 (not shown), from a pin arranged below the axles 15 and passing through the side plates 14 of the carriages. A horizontally disposed link 18 interconnecting the links 17 of the carriages 12, 13 supports guide wheels 21. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 4, the rigid link 48 is mounted at one end on a threaded end 47 of the suspension member 46 so as to be able to pivot about the vertical axis of the member 46 and at the other end is connected to the suspension member 36 through a horizontal pin 37 in a clevis rotatably mounted in a housing 49 in the link 48.
