Abstract

1,055,844. Conveyer system. M. V. HJORTH. March 5, 1965 [March 9, 1964], No. 9381/65. Heading B7L. A chain conveyer comprises upper and lower rectangular or circular cross-section rails 1 and 4 welded together as at 3, and having longitudinal slits 2 and 5, Fig. 2 (not shown), extending along their upper and lower parts respectively. The chain which runs in rail 1 comprises rollers 7 with vertical axes jointed by link plates 12 and 13 to pairs of rollers 6, having a horizontal axis, which support a dragging member 24. Vertical arms 9 placed on the axles of the wheels 6 support a longitudinal axle 22 on which the vertically extending dragging member hinges. A load carrying trolley which runs in rail 4 comprises a link 28 supported on rollers 29, and arms 31, 32-carry supporting rollers 35 and forks 33, 34 in which rotate rollers 36 with vertical axes. Projecting bolts 37 retain a carrying portion 38 from which depends a hook 39 and which is surrounded by a shield 40 constructed for removable engagement with a cut-away part of the dragging member. Rollers 41 fixed to the link 38 contact the lateral edges of the rail slit fence guiding the trolley. Sensing rollers 26 and 27, Fig. 2 (not shown), placed in apertures in the dragging member 24, co-operate with cam-shaped guide members (not shown) placed on the side of the rails to force to dragging member out of contact with the carrier at carrier stopping stations.
