Abstract

777,989. Stackers. DEMAG-ZUG GES. Jan. 31, 1955 [Feb. 11, 1954], No. 2784/55. Class 78 (3). A device for loading articles on to warehouse shelves comprises a frame 1 guided by rails 2, 4 for movement between rows of shelves, a carrier 6 movable vertically in the frame by a winch 7 and cables 8, and a load-urging member 5 which is mounted in the carrier on guides 9 and is displaceable to either side of the frame into the shelves. Safety means are provided to prevent the frame 1 from moving when the member 5 is extended. The carrier 6 is shown guided in the frame by rollers, but according to a modification (not shown) it is freely suspended. According to a further modification (not shown) the. carrier is provided with a plurality of independently movable members 5 arranged in rows and/or columns. In another modification the frame 1 is mounted on a vehicle.
