Abstract

The travelling crane slewing chassis has the wheels mounted so that load is evenly distributed. There are two or more wheels acting in directions at right angles to each other, with a supporting assembly evening out the load in both directions. There can be pairs of wheels on swing axles transmitting the vertical load to two parallel rails, there being compensators running in the travel direction. A second wheel set acts as a transverse guide between the rails, its wheels is lying in a horizontal plane. The suspension of the compensators is such as to allow pivoting movement both about a transverse and a vertical axis.
