Abstract

1528095 Elevated railways DEMAG AG 26 Feb 1976 [26 Feb 1975] 7635/76 Heading B7L A carriage, for use in an overhead monorail system including an I-section or inverted I- section support rail 1, comprises a frame formed of two spread plates 2, on which frame are mounted a pair of forward wheel supports 3 transversely spaced of the carriage and a pair of rearward wheel supports transversely spaced of the carriage, each wheel support 3 being pivotal about a vertical axis via a ball joint 9 mounted on a transverse rod 20 secured relative to the frame 2, each support 3 mounting a shaft 5 for a horizontal axis running wheel 4 engageable with a rail flange 1a and also mounting through a U-shaped strap 15, a pair of vertical axis guide rollers 6 engageable with a rail web surface 1b, wherein the axis of the running wheel 4 is located between the axis of the associated guide rollers 6. The frame 2 mounts a load suspension bolt 25 and supports 3 of each pair are pivotally connected by transverse rods 13. The forward or rearward supports of each, on each side of the carriage are pivotally connected by longitudinal rods 12. The rods 24 and 12 form with the supports parallelogram linkages.
