Abstract

1,181,451. Conveyer system; elevated railways. H. S. MARSH NUCLEAR ENERGY Ltd. 2 Feb., 1968 [3 March, 1967], No. 10236/67. Heading B7L. A conveyer system comprises a monorail track formed of I-section joists 14, Fig. 1, connected by sharp bends in the form of inverted T-section rails or I-section rails, and trolleys each having two pairs of flanged wheels 16, 16 and 17, 17 running on the bottom flanges of the rails, the wheels of each pair being on a common axis extending between the arms of a U-member 30, Fig. 4, the two U-members 30 being attached to a load-carrying plate or frame 18 through pivot shafts 33 to permit rotation about parallel vertical axes bisecting the axes of the wheels. The sides of the wheel flanges 36 adjacent the rail flanges are chamfered. The plate 18 is connected by a pillar 19 to a load frame 20 and the frames 20 are propelled along the rails 14 by pushers 22 on drive chains 23 and around the rail bends by pushers 24 on shafts 25.
