Abstract

1379916 Trackway for conveyer system HYTRAC CONVEYORS Ltd 2 Feb 1973 [4 Nov 1971] 51237/71 Heading B7L [Also in Division B8] A trackway for supporting a conveyer chain 1 comprises a pair of spaced side members each composed of a plurality of track sections 9 connected end to end by joint plates 13 bolted to adjoining sections, opposing sections 9 being held at the required spacing by a plurality of bridge plates 20 bolted to the sections, and the track sections 9 define opposing channels 1À0 to receive wheels on the chain and have top and bottom horizontal flanges 12 provided with bolt holes 14 for connection with the joint plates 13. Conveniently the bridge plates 20 are also positioned at the junctions between adjoining track sections and two bridge plates 20 may be bolted face to face. The chain 1 is driven by dogs 8 and comprises links 3, whereof the wheels of successive links are mutually at right angles, and pendants 7 for supporting a load. Alternatively the chain may carry drive dogs for propelling load-carrying trolleys on a separate trackway of similar construction.
