Abstract

902,847. Endless chain conveyers. BURTON, R. C. Aug. 7, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 14604/58. Class 78 (1). An endless-chain conveyer of the overhead type comprises a series of trolley structures 1 interconnected by links 16 in such manner as to allow flexing of the assembly in both vertical and horizontal planes, each trolley comprising rollers 8 adapted to run on the exterior surfaces of the upper limbs of channel members 21, 22 forming the track, and further rollers 10 engaging the interior surfaces of the bases of the channels. The rollers 8 are journalled in blocks 7 welded to a bar 2 of each trolley, while the rollers 10 are journalled on opposite sides of a pair of link plates 3, 4 on pins 6 which secure together an assembly comprising the bar 2, the link-plates 3, 4 and a second bar 5 to which is welded a lug 18 from which the load is suspended by means of an aperture 19. Each link 16 comprises a pair of link-plates 15 which are journalled at each end on a pin 14 carried by a block 13 which is rotatable on the adjacent pin 6. The track is suspended from a roof or wall girder by rods (Fig. 4, not shown). A coverplate 23 is secured in position above the track by brackets (Fig. 6, not shown).
