885,827. Endless chain overhead conveyers. KING Ltd., GEO. W. June 8, 1960 [June 8, 1959], No. 19539/59. Class 78 (1). In an endless overhead conveyer of the kind comprising an endless chain formed of links 10 and which is flexible in both horizontal and vertical planes, and is provided with rollers 11, 12 running in a track 13 of channel form, pairs of upstanding members 17 are provided at intervals along the chain, each pair being connected to the chain at the positions of two adjacent sets of rollers 11, 12, and a C-shaped member 14 is secured via a plate 15 to the upper ends of the members 17 to extend around the track 13, a depending load bar 24 being secured to the lower end of member 14 to lie in the vertical plane containing the chain. Rollers 25, 26 are provided on the ends of a bar 22 which is secured to the upper end of the depending load bar 24, these rollers engaging within a guide channel 27 secured to the underside of the track 13. In order to allow for travel of the C-shaped members 14 around curves, each of the upstanding members 17 is loosely connected to the chain by a longitudinally extending portion 19 which is chamfered at one end 18 and is provided with a rivet having hemispherical heads 21 at its other end, a clearance being provided between each of the heads 21 and the inner side of the adjacent link plate.
