944,137. Endless conveyers; conveyer chains. ATLAS CHAIN & MANUFACTURING CO. Oct. 1, 1962 [Oct. 4, 1961], No. 37206/62. Heading B8A. An endless conveyer comprises chain links 11 each formed with a flat load supporting surface 26. Each link is formed a lug 13 and a pair of lugs 15 for interlinking with corresponding lugs 15 and 13 respectively of adjacent links. Drive is transmitted to each link from a sprocket 24 by the engagement of a sprocket tooth with a trailing lug 22 of a pair of driving lugs 21, 22, projecting beneath the undersurface of the link 11. The lugs 13 and 15 do not contact the sprocket 24. The edges of the links 11, where they abut edges of adjacent links, are formed with bevels 14. Similar bevels are formed on corresponding portions of the lugs 13, 15. The links 11 may be of aluminium.
