Abstract

1418040 Linked-slat conveyer belts COMPAGNIE EUROPEENE DE MANUTENTION 27 Dec 1972 [4 Jan 1972] 59617/72 Heading B8A Lugs 6 of a conveyer belt slat engage apertures 9 in projections 7 formed on an adjacent slat. The slats are engaged or disengaged by hinging them to positions in which they are perpendicular relative to each other (Fig. 7, not shown). A belt formed from the links can be used in tension (Fig. 5, not shown) or in compression (Fig. 6, not shown). Portions 14 defining the apertures 9, may co-operate with guides (not shown) for the belt. The latter may negotiate curves in the plane of the belt surface (Fig. 4, not shown). Curved bridge-portions 8 of the projections 7 serve to engage the peripheral recesses of driving sprockets (Fig. 8, not shown). The slats may be formed with article positioning flights (not shown).
