Abstract

1406300 Scraper conveyers GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 4 Oct 1972 [4 Oct 1971] 45743/72 Heading B8A An assembly for driving a scraper chain comprises a drum (not shown) mounted for rotation between side walls 1, 2, a bracket 8a disposed between the side walls 1, 2 and having lugs 10, 20 extending towards the drum, a tongue 12 for guiding the chains on to the drain and mounted on the lugs 10 and extending partially over the drum, and chain guides 14, 15 for stripping the chain from the drum and being disposed in a recess 13 on the tongue 12 and being connected to the lugs 20 and retained in place by members 26 or 30 depending from the tongue 12. The tongue 12 is contiguous with a base plate 3 contiguous with the trough of the scraper conveyer. The guides 14, 15 are carried by a common support 16 which has, either recesses 23 at its ends in which are received pins 24 passing through apertures in the lugs 20 and held in place by the members 26, or is formed with pins 28 which project through slots 29 in the lugs 20 and are held in place by the members 30. In a modification (Figs. 4 and 5) for use with a conveyer having two chains laterally disposed of the conveyer, each of the guides has pins (19) received in slots in the walls 1, 2 and lugs (21) of the bracket 8a and retained in position by members (35, 38) depending from the tongue 12.
