Abstract

1352540 Driving endless conveyers SOVEX Ltd 1 Sept 1972 [3 Sept 1971] 41237/71 Heading B8A A conveyer chain 2 carrying a series of rollers 4 is driven by the action of a chain 1 carrying a series of rollers 6. The roller 6 and/or the roller 4 is provided with a soft tyre 6A (Fig. 3). In Fig. 1 each pivot of each chain carries a pair of associated rollers 4 (or 6, as the case may be) the rollers of the pair being disposed on respective sides of the associated chain. In Fig. 2, the roller 4 is mounted between the side plates of its chain, and the end sprockets (not shown) are suitably recessed in order to allow passage of the rollers. The roller 6 is mounted between the chains of a double-chain version of the chain 1. Reaction surfaces are provided at 8 and 9. The material of the tyre 6A is polyurethane.
