Abstract

1431755 Platform elevator M L AVIATION CO Ltd 25 May 1973 [7 June 1972] 26570/72 Heading B8H Trolley for loading stores &c. into an aircraft comprises a wheeled chassis 10 with a cradle 24 coupled at opposite ends to independently controlled winches 16, 18 to raise or lower the cradle. A parallel motion suspension supports the cradle during its vertical displacement to prevent rotation thereof about its longitudinal axis and the consequent rolling off of the load. The suspension comprises a pair of cables 34, 36 secured at the same level 46, 50 to opposite sides of the chassis and extending upwardly over the side of the chassis and then downwardly to pass under a pulley 38A, 44 secured to the cradle. The cables then extend across the cradle to pass over a further pulley 38, 44A also mounted on the chassis, and then under the chassis to be secured to opposite sides thereof at a similar level 48, 52.
