A loading truck comprises a channel section platform 10 supported through rollers 23, 24 on inclined planes 19 formed on bogies 11, 12 carried on rollers 17. The bogies are linked by a member 32 and are connected by a link 31 to a bell-crank lever 36 pivoted on the platform 10, such that rotation of the lever 36 by a rod inserted in a hole 35 moves the bogies to cause the rollers 23, 24 to ride up the planes 19, thereby lifting the platform until the rollers 23, 24 locate themselves in grooves 20. The raising and lowering mechanism may be tripped by a sprag 37 hinged to the bell-crank lever and bearing on a pivot 29.
