Abstract

1347230 Overhead transporters VSESOJUZNY PROEKTNY I NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT PROMYSHLENNOGO TRANSPORTA 25 Aug 1972 39660/72 Heading B8B [Also in Division F2] A transporter and reloader comprises overhead rail tracks 4, 5 and a trolley 1 with rollers 2, 3. The central, upper monorail 4 is laid throughout the whole course of the trolley 1, while two auxiliary rails 5 are provided to stabilize the trolley 1 at service areas. The trolley 1 is driven by an electric tractor 11 with rollers 12 and has a slewing boom 8 pivoted on an axle 7 with a counterweight 9. A telpher 10 is arranged to run along the boom 8 so as to serve an area on either side of the tracks 4, 5. As shown in Fig. 2 the telpher 10 is restrained by a mechanism 21 while the trolley 1 is in transit. In addition to movement along the boom 8 the telpher 10 may transfer to branch monorails 28, the boom 8 being latched to the selected monorail 28 by a mechanism 29 as shown in Fig. 7. The boom 8 may be slewed by an electric motor 42 or by movement of the trolley 1, Fig. 12 (not shown). A conventional system of automatic addressing of cargoes is used (not shown).
