Abstract

953,382. Overhead travelling cranes. SOC. DES FORGES ET ATELIERS DU CREUSOT. Jan. 13, 1961 [Jan. 13, 1960], No. 1508/61. Heading B8B. The carriage 7 of an overhead travelling crane has overhanging portions 14, 15 which extend on either side of a supporting track 6 and means which enable lifting cables 10 to be deflected and lowered outside the tracks 6. The cables are deflected by pulley blocks 19 mounted in carriages 18 which have rollers 17 and can be locked in position on tracks 16 perpendicular to the tracks 6. Alternatively the cables may be disposed as shown in full lines in Fig. 2 to support the ends of a compensator bar 23. A long compensator bar may be used with the cables in their outer positions.
