992,937. Low-lift trucks. JOLODA TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT Ltd. Oct. 13, 1961 [Oct. 13, 1960], No. 35034/60. Heading B8H. In a lift truck comprising a channel-section load support 10 provided with double wedgeshaped cams 14 engaging rollers 15 on bogies 11, 12 whereby, on relative horizontal movement between the load support 10 and the bogies 11, 12, the load support is raised or lowered, a device 22 is provided for causing lowering of the load support when the device engages an obstruction in the path of the truck. The bogies 11, 12 are interconnected by links and the bogie 11 is connected by a link to a bell crank lever 17 pivoted in a housing 19 on the load support and provided with an operating lever 24. An arm 22 is pivoted to the lever arm 20 of the bell crank lever and, on engagement with a stop or obstruction, turns the bell crank lever in an anti-clockwise direction thereby causing lowering of the load support 10, the webs of the load support 10 engaging either the bogie wheels 13 or the track in the lowered position and acting as brakes for the truck.
