Abstract

1,153,607. Self-levelling lifting frames for containers. KONE OSAKEYHTIO. 13 May, 1968, No. 22552/68. Heading B8H. A self-levelling lifting frame comprises a lower part 2 which engages a container and is moved by a ram 20, 21 with respect to an upper part I to centralize the centre of gravity of the loaded container. The lower part 2 is suspended by a trolley 5 and links 4 from the upper part 1 and wheels 7 of the trolley, which run on the underside of rails 8, are eccentrically mounted on axles 6. Thus, if the container is unbalanced, the axles 6 rotate and one or other of spring-loaded arms 12, 15, which are fixed to the axles, operates one or other of limit switches 18, 19. The latter control the operation of the ram and when the ram has moved the centre of gravity of the container to a central position the forces tending to rotate the axles 6 balance and the arms 12, 15 return to their inoperative positions.
