Abstract

1,069,827. Recovery trolleys for hoists. BIR. FIELD ENGINEERING Ltd. April 25, 1966, No. 17988/66. Heading B8B. A hoist (12), Fig. 1 (not shown), is suspended from a beam 16 by a trolley 14 which has downwardly converging links 48, 54 fast with crossshafts 70, 76 which are resiliently mounted in bearing blocks 84, 94 on the hoist housing 18 by torsion bushes 86, 95. Grooves 74, 80 in the cross-shafts provide adjustment of the lateral spacing of the wheels 28, 30 to suit girders of various widths. Stops 96 on the links 48, 54 restrict the lifting of the wheels from the supporting flange 38. To prevent the hoist from falling due to a failure of the trolley a C-shaped link, which embraces the flange 38, is pivoted to the bearing block 94. The hoist may be as described in British Specification 1,013,587.
