Abstract

591,080. Endless-belt conveyers. BENNIS COMBUSTION, Ltd., and BENNIS, A. W. April 27, 1945, No. 10587. [Class 78(i)] In a conveyer for carrying materials, such as wet ash or clinkers, up an incline running back of the material is prevented by one or more endless belts B each of which is carried by a framing movable longitudinally of the conveyer A and is arranged so that its lower run exerts pressure on the material. Each belt B is supported by end drums C, D and intermediate rollers E mounted in a framing B which may be supported on 'wheels running on rails, but preferably is suspended by links K, L from the wheeled framing G. The links L are fast on shafts M which are connected by links 0, N and one of which is connected by an arm P and chain Q to a chain block R. The framing is raised or lowered by manipulating the chain S. Each belt B may be-driven by an electric motor mounted on the framing F.
