Abstract

770,798. Endless belt conveyers. CABLE BELT, Ltd. Nov. 28, 1955 [March 7, 1955], No. 6634/55. Class 78 (1). A belt conveyer comprises an endless belt 12 which is driven by endless cables 10 and which is deflected upwardly from the cables to discharge at 27, auxiliary driving means 52, 53 being provided to engage the belt between the points at which it leaves and returns to the cables. As shown, belt 12 leaves the driving cables 10 at 25 and passes over idler rollers 48 and round drums 45 and 47, and then returns to the cables, the idler rollers and drums being carried by travelling throw-off carriage 35 running on wheels 30. Drum 45 is driven from auxiliary driving rollers 52, 53 driven by cables 10, and the discharge is made at 27, the belt being scraped at 28. Alternatively, the auxiliary driving means may be an auxiliary driving belt which frictionally drives the endless belt 12 or may be twin auxiliary cables.
