Abstract

727,254. Portable conveyers. LISTER & CO., Ltd., R. A. April 29, 1953 [May 15, 1952], No. 12282/52. Class 78 (1). In a portable elevator comprising a framework 11, e.g. supporting an endless conveyer 12, supported, with one end 13 on the ground, solely by a pair of coaxial ground-engaging wheels 22 connected to it by struts extending from the axis of the wheels on opposite sides of the vertical plane through this axis, the strut nearer the end 13 is approximately a quarter of the length of the framework and is connected to the latter, at 24, a quarter of the length of the framework from that end, so that at all normal angles of the elevator the mid-point or centre of gravity of the framework will be vertically over the wheels. As shown, the strut nearer the ground engaging end is formed of two portions 23, 24 secured together about the axis of a driving wheel 15. The other strut 29 is pivotally connected to the frame 11 at 30, a quarter the length of frame 11 from its upper end, and is telescopic for adjusting the elevation of the frame, a telescopic leg 32 provided with locking means 34 and connected by a strut 33 to the wheel axis being provided to hold the frame in adjusted position. A motor 18 drives the lower roller 14 of the conveyer via driving- wheel 15 through belts, the primary belt 16 being tightened by a roller 19, manually applied by a lever 20, for engaging the drive.
