950,179. Adjustable screw conveyers. G. L. I. FELBER, and J. SILVER. May 2, 1960 [Jan. 30, 1959 (4)], Nos. 3482/59, 3483/59, 3484/59 and 3485/59. Heading B8A. A screw elevator has a conveyer screw 2 journalled at 40 in and carried by conveyer casing 1. Casing 1 is provided with an extensible skid member 9 which rests on the ground, and with an adjustable framework 11, 12 which is pivoted on axle 13 pivoted at 20, and connected at the top by Y-fork member 16. Member 16 pivots around framework 12 and slides in guideways 19 to give a universal movement. Alternatively the framework may be removed and the top of the conveyer may be supported on a lorry by means of member 16. The screw is driven by the motor M mounted upon adjustable frame 25 and spring 34 serves to bias the motor to tension the driving belt 39. Winch 21 is mounted on casing 1 and its cable 22 is secured to Y-fork member 16 so that by winding the cable on to the winding drum, the inclination of the conveyer screw and casing is varied.
