[Class 78 (i)] In an endless belt conveyer the driving means comprises a power unit on a stationary base having a driving member mounted for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis, a frame mounted for limited angular movement relative to the base about the axis of rotation of the driving member, a belt driving pulley mounted on the frame and drivingly connected to the driving member, belt tensioning means mounted on the frame, and means for connecting the frame rigidly to one end of a conveyer housing for the conveyer belt, the arrangement being such that the frame together with the belt driving pulley thereon can be pivoted about the axis of the driving member to permit of the power unit driving the conveyer whether this is disposed in a position in which it is horizontal or inclined to the horizontal, and the belt tension can be adjusted by the belt tensioning means with the conveyer disposed in any of the varying positions. The driving motor is rigidly mounted on a stationary base 12 having side flanges 17 one of which is apertured for the driving spindle 15. A frame 23 which is connected to a troughing support 11 of the kind described in Specification 638,681 has side flanges 18 one of which is apertured to receive the spindle 15 and both have an arcuate slot 20. The flanges 17 have a series of screw holes 21 coinciding with the arcuate slots so that the frame can be tilted about the spindle and locked in position by set screws 22. The motor has a sprocket 16 which is connected by a chain 28 to a sprocket 27 connected to a driving pulley 26 supported by trunnions on frame 23. The belt 10 can be tensioned by a roller 30, over which the belt passes, and mounted to be movable on threaded side rods 32. The belt also passes over a jockey pulley 29.
