Abstract
707,892. Endless bett conveyers. MILIK CONVEYORS, Ltd., and MILIK, R. June 6, 1952 [March 7, 1951], No. 5510/51. Class 78 (1) In conveyers provided with means for .moving individual rollers from, and returning them to, their belt supporting positions while the belt is in motion, the upper roller carrying member 20, Fig. 3, is hinged at one end to an L-shaped bracket 1 which is secured to a pit prop 2 or other support by a flexible band 3 or chain. The band may be made of metal or of a strong textile or textile and rubber fabric. The end 4 of the band is anchored to the bracket and the other end 6 is secured by passing it through a slot 12, Fig. 1, in a rotatable member 7 and turning this member to tension it. The member 7 is held in the band tensioning position by the engagement of a pin 16 mounted thereon in one of a series of holes 18, and the band is gripped between fixed curved jaws 14, 15. The member 20 is hinged to the bracket by a pin 24 which is insertable in either pair of two pairs of aligned openings 23 in lugs 21, 22 on the bracket. The other end of the member is secured to a support 29 by a member 28, Fig. 4, having opposed notches c, d formed in its two limbs. A resilient pad f of rubber, felt, &c. is secured to the member 20 so that it does not turn as the member 28 is rotated to engage the support. This pad maintains the support behind the lips h, j of the notches.
