[Class 78 (i)] Tracking means for endless-band conveyers comprises a pair of freely rotatable displaceably mounted rollers 4, 5 between the nip of which the band conveyer is confined throughout its width, abutment means 3 at the sides of the band to limit external displacement, and means for adjusting the rollers so that their axes may be inclined or skewed at an angle to the length of the conveyer. The rollers 4, 5 rotate on spindles 1, 2 fixed in end discs 3 with trunnions 7 housed in a slide carriage 9 mounted on a slideway 10 fixed to the side frame 8 of the conveyer, The rollers, may be adjustably mounted in the discs 3 or. spring-pressed to engage the band resiliently. The rollers may be adjusted axially by set screws 14 bearing upon the ends of the trunnions 7. As applied to the tension rollers of the biscuit transporting conveyer of Specification 548,429 ,two pairs of the rollers 4, 5 are mounted one above and the other below the padded drum, 30 for transporting the biscuits. The upper pair of rollers form the tensioning means for the conveyer band 31, each slider 9 having a stirrup piece 15 in which'are adjustable by nuts 17 threaded pins 16 connected to chains 21 the other ends of which are anchored to chain -wheels 20 on a shaft 18. A chain wheel 22 on the shaft 18 has fixed to it a chain 23 carrying a counterweight 24. By adjusting the nuts 17 the conveyer band 31 may be skewed for tracking. The lower pair of rollers form the terminal roll for the conveyer band 32, each slider 9 being adjustable in the guides 10 by set screws 27.
