Abstract
895,784. Mineral-mining machines. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI GEB. Oct. 31, 1958 [Nov. 5, 1957], No. 34939/58. Class 68(1). Mineral is mined from the buttock of a seam by rotary boring heads 2 disposed vertically above one another, and by a loop cutter chain 10 positioned immediately behind said boring heads, which together with the chain are mounted at the front of the body of the machine sliding along the side of a face conveyer 4. The mineral when freed from the seam drops down to be urged by the arms of the lowest head 2 up over an S section guide 12 that extends both around part of the peripheral path of the lower head and down over into the conveyer. The cutter pick and loading paddle-armed chain 10 is mounted about sprockets 13 on the shafts 14 of the upper and lower cutter heads 2. A horizontal cutter disc 16 is provided for clearing the floor.
