Abstract
772,380. Mining apparatus. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSERI, GEB. March 30, 1955 [April 3, 1954], No. 9238/55. Class 68 (1). Mining apparatus comprises a cutting machine and a conveyer belt sliding on the floor beneath the machine, the belt being protected from injury by the cutting tool. The machine is mounted on slide runners 8, 9 and has two cutting chain arms 4, 5. The lower and smaller cutter 5 stops short of the slide 8 and is attached to the cutter 4 by a port cutter 14. A clearing scoop supported by a frame is attached by links to the rear of the machine behind the cutters. The conveyer belt 7 is lifted between curved centralizing guide plates (12, 13, Fig. 3 not shown), attached to the inside of the slides 8, 9, by a roller 10 journalled in said curved plates and is then pressed on to the floor by a roller 11 journalled in the slides 8, 9.
