762,500. Endless belt conveyers. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI GEB. Dec. 7, 1953 [Jan. 2, 1953; Oct. 12, 1953], No. 33969/53. Class 78 (1). In a belt conveyer for use in mines with the bottom run operative to convey the material, the driving head comprises two belt driving drums independently driven by separate motorgearbox assemblies, the two assemblies being mounted externally and projecting to opposite sides of the head. In one form, Fig. 1, belt 1 delivers over the drum 8 to transverse gallery conveyer 11 and is guided around the latter by drum 7 and rollers 10, 11, the drums 7 and 8 being separately driven by motors and gearing mounted externally of the framework in line with their respective drums and on opposite sides of the belt 1. The Fig. 4 form, for low working room has separately driven drums 12, 13 beyond the gallery conveyer 11, belt 1 delivering over guide rollers 14, 15. Drums 12, 13 are of different diameters and are driven at correspondingly different speeds.
