[Also in Group XXV] A power transmission roller chain comprising links consisting of pairs of parallel plates 5, 6 pivotably connected by pins 7- 9, also includes articulated links each comprising two pairs of short plates 10, 11 each perpendicular to and turnable about one of the pins, and a partcylindrical pad 17 carried by plates 11 and freely rotatable in a corresponding recess in a swivel-block 13 carried by plates 10 to enable the chain to follow radiused guide means 39. As shown, each articulated link carries an articulated trough member comprising two component trough elements each attached to one pair of short plates, the trough elements having base-plates 28, 30 with mutually overlapping margins and side walls 34, 36 of which those attached to the base-plate having the upper of the overlapping margins are curved about the axis of the part-cylindrical pad and stand within side walls attached to the other base-plate.
