777,393. Mineral-mining machines. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI, GEBS. March 31, 1955 [April 1, 1954], No. 9459/55. Class 68 (1). A cutter-carrying drum 21 is rotatably mounted in the ends of the longer pair of the two pairs of arms of two bell-crank levers pivotally supported on a structure 8 that can be slid on rails 6 on a turntable 4 mounted on a mobile chassis 3. The structure 8 can be reciprocated on the rails 6 by a ram 9 mounted on the rail-supporting platform 5 of the turntable ; rams 12, pivotally mounted on the structure 8, can swing the bellcrank levers and the cutter drum in a vertical plane ; the turntable permits of horizontal slewing of the drum. Mineral from the cutter drum is received by an endless conveyer 22 so positioned below and supported from the arms 16 that the relative position between it and the drum is always maintained. Mineral is discharged from this conveyer 22 into a hopper 24 and thence on to a conveyer 25 secured beneath the chassis of the machine.
